Need for help

Support & assistance for e.g. older guests or people with disabilities

The barrier-free TraumHaus (INTAWO gemeinnützige GmbH) in ElsterPark is primarily aimed at families, tour groups, older guests, people with disabilities and socially disadvantaged people with low or medium incomes.

Under certain conditions, these people are considered to be "in need of assistance" and can therefore take advantage of discounted offers at ElsterPark. Certain criteria must be met for "need of assistance" to be recognised in order to book discounted prices.

Depending on the federal state, there may also be public subsidies for your holiday.

Requirements for recognising the need for assistance:

We are legally obliged to prove to the tax office that you are entitled to these benefits.

Age-related need for assistance

Personal need for assistance due to physical condition can be assumed without verification for persons who have reached the age of 75. (Please provide us with your identity card as proof).

Physically in need of help

Corporations that pursue charitable purposes must prove that they are actually acting charitably. To do so, they must generally provide individual evidence of the persons in need.

Excerpt from § 53 AO (charitable purposes): "A corporation pursues charitable purposes if its activities are aimed at selflessly supporting persons who are dependent on the help of others as a result of their physical condition"

Proof is required:

  • Notifications from the care insurance company regarding the care level of the person in need of assistance

  • Extracts from expert reports

  • Confirmation from a doctor

  • Billing documents from the health or long-term care insurance

  • Disability certificate from the pension office

Economic need for assistance

A person in economic need of assistance is someone who cannot or cannot sufficiently secure his or her livelihood from the income or assets to be taken into account and does not receive the necessary assistance from others, in particular from relatives or from providers of other social benefits.

Economic need for assistance is considered to be proven in the case of recipients of benefits in accordance with:

  • SGB II and XII

  • Housing Benefit Act

  • § 27a BundesversorgG

  • § 6a BundeskindergeldG

The respective benefit notification serves as proof.

For persons living in a community of need, the income and assets of the partner must also be taken into account. The assets may not exceed the limit of €15,500 per family member travelling with you.
