Our employees are highly motivated and look forward to serving guests in a friendly manner or conjuring up creations in the kitchen with our head chef.
Here we introduce our team in more detail and give our workshop employees and staff the opportunity to tell you a little about themselves.
ElsterPark Manager
Carsten Kühn
has been working as a manager at ElsterPark since 2021. The trained hotel manager has many years of professional experience, including as a restaurant manager in the Morada hotel chain, catering manager at the Kristalltherme Ludwigsfelde and was booked as an event manager for larger events.
Looking back, he says that the first few months at ELSTERWERK were eventful, turbulent and very moving for him.

Chef BlauHaus
Markus Münzer
Austrian-born chef Markus Münzer moved to Elbe-Elsterland with his family.
He has worked in the central kitchen at ELSTER WERKE gGmbH since 2011. Now, after a short break, he can once again fulfil his culinary ambitions as head chef at the BlauHaus and also trains our catering apprentices.
Markus loves his work and is incredibly creative in the kitchen. He delights our guests with fantastic, very special delicacies and conjures up a very special flair in our BlauHaus, which our guests appreciate.
BlauHaus service team
Maik Hofmann-Adamski
Maik Hofmann-Adamski has been working in the service department at BlauHaus since November 2020. You can immediately feel his "love for his job" when he warmly welcomes guests to the restaurant. He worked in Austria for 13 years before returning home to Herzberg. He is responsible for the service team and also coordinates the tasks for the workshop employees in the team.
Maik really enjoys his work, interacting with guests and likes all his colleagues in the BlauHaus team.
The long-serving service employee is known to many guests, not least for his friendly, refreshing manner and the constant smile on his face.
My name isJens Neumann . I worked in the central kitchen at ELSTER WERKE for many years and have been working in the kitchen at BlauHaus and the BBZ (vocational training centre) at ELSTER WERKE since December 2023. I chose to work as a group leader because I enjoy working with people who need support. My tasks consist of looking after and supporting the workshop employees. I'm also responsible for providing breakfast for the TraumHaus guests.
I really enjoy my work, and I particularly like working together and socialising. Of course, I would like to continue to develop my skills and take even more time for the needs of the workshop employees.
For the future, I hope to always have satisfied guests, good cooperation and mutual understanding.
"My name is Michael Siegel and I work as an assistant chef in the kitchen at the BlauHaus restaurant.
I've been here since the beginning, i.e. since 1 May 2014. I like working here because I also like cooking in my private life and I learnt to do it very early on.
What I enjoy most is preparing and serving food. My biggest challenge is reading the till receipts. But this has also developed into a strength, as I can now recognise the food ordered by the numbers. We work well together as colleagues. There are good days and bad days."
Sebastian Kienzle
"I'm Sebastian Kienzle and I've been working in service at the BlauHaus restaurant from the very beginning.
I operate the cash register, can settle the bill with our guests and even do the daily accounts at the end.
I've been at the BlauHaus since 2014 and love it here because I like being around people. I enjoy serving guests the most.
My biggest challenge is to work just as well as the specialised staff. I get on very well with my colleagues and you can talk about any problems here."
Jana Sandmann
"Hello, I'm Jana Sandmann and I work in the service department at Restaurant BlauHaus. My tasks include setting tables, clearing tables and taking orders.
I also look after the work area of our sun terrace and look after the breakfast guests from our Hotel TraumHaus.
I like working here because you have a lot to do with other people at work. What I enjoy most at the moment is the cleaning work. But I also enjoy serving guests. I often find it difficult to keep a smile on my face. My colleagues are helpful and always ready to listen if you have a problem."
Mario Leopold
"Hello, I'm Mario Leopold and I work in the kitchen at the BlauHaus restaurant.
I've been here since autumn 2014 and I like it because I'm surrounded by people. I also enjoy working with my colleagues.
I enjoy preparing food at work. I think it's great when I get to barbecue for a group of visitors. That gives me great pleasure."
Jacqueline Born
"Hello, I'm Jacqueline Born and I work in service. I serve the guests, bring them the menus and serve them their food.
I've been here for a year and I really enjoy working in service. I greet the guests, serve them food and prepare drinks. I get on very well with everyone at the moment."
Melanie Ziegelmann
"I'm Melanie Ziegelmann and I work in the kitchen at BlauHaus. I cook there, prepare the ingredients (washing, cleaning, cutting, etc.) and help with tidying up.
I've been here since the end of 2015. I enjoy the work and we laugh a lot together. It's nice that I'm always learning something new. A big challenge for me is when I have to master new tasks.
I'm glad that my colleagues always make me laugh and that we have so much fun together."
Sylvia Wassel
"I am Sylvia Wassel. I work in the kitchen at the BlauHaus restaurant. My job there is to prepare and process various foods.
But it also involves cooking and arranging the dishes from our menu. And last but not least, I also work in the dishwashing area. I've been here since August 2014 and I really enjoy working in the kitchen and in the whole business.
I also enjoy cutting fruit and vegetables. Fish and meat, on the other hand, are a challenge for me. I really enjoy working with my colleagues."
Heiko Simon
My name is Heiko Simon.
I have been working at ELSTER WERKE since August 2014. I currently work in the kitchen at BlauHaus.
My day-to-day tasks there include washing up, cleaning, doing the preparatory work and serving meals.
I really enjoy working in a team and I hope that I can continue working in my job for a long time to come.
