Baking workshop * * * on 6 and 7 February 2023
As part of the vocational training programme (BBB), a baking workshop was held with interested workshop employees and kitchen helpers from BlauHaus. Following 5 great recipes, 5 different cakes and tarts were created using easy-to-understand step-by-step instructions.
All participants were allowed to try their hand for 2 days. They learnt about different ingredients and had to weigh out the correct number of grams of flour or sugar according to the recipe instructions or learn one or two baking tricks from course leader Ann-Kathrin Koch and group leader Dana Globig - e.g. separating eggs or how to whip cream so stiffly that it stays "upside down" in the bowl. The cake bases were neatly divided, topped with fruit or decorated with icing.
The baking workshop also showed whether the participants from the vocational training area of the workshop might later want to work in the kitchen or restaurant.
At the afternoon tasting with invited guests, the sweet creations were served with coffee and tea.
All participants were rewarded for the successful outcome with a certificate and another stamp in their educational passports.
