The exhibition "Glück auf Pech ab" presents the creative results of the Kult!INKoffer project. Artists have written, drawn, modelled and sung to capture the structural change and special features of the Lusatian coal region. The focus was on topics such as climate, labour, the fascination of open-cast mining landscapes and striking locations such as the horizontal Eiffel Tower (F60), the Louise briquette factory and the emerging lake landscape.

The project was supported by the Lusatia economic region, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection and with funds from the state of Brandenburg and the Brandenburg State Chancellery. The projects are also publicised through the campaign "Lusatia. Krasse Gegend." campaign.

The exhibition thematises lost places, life and social upheavals. It speaks of honest words, painful times and forgotten dreams. It is an invitation to reflect on nature, society and the connection between yesterday, today and tomorrow.

A place that tells stories - of you, of me, of all of us.

"With this exhibition, we want to bring the unique history of the Lusatian coal region to life and encourage people to think about its future. The works reflect the artists' personal perspectives and invite visitors to engage with the social and climate challenges of our time," adds Isabell Wiehmert (project manager).

"At the same time, it is a journey through the past and reflects the search in the present. Memories, loss and hopeful new beginnings are experienced and made discussable through art," says Ute Schmerbauch (project manager).
